Media Competition Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I enter a piece of media that was produced two years ago?

A: No. The purpose of the media competition is to highlight interpretive media that was completed in the previous calendar year, in this case 2007. Pieces must have been completed between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007 to qualify.


Q: If I cannot afford the $45.00 entry fee can I still enter the competition?

A: No. The fee for the each entry covers the postage necessary to mail the entries to the judges and cover the other costs of the competition.


Q: Can I put supporting materials on a disk?

A: Yes. Certain categories, in particular the interior and wayside exhibit categories, have the potential of being large. To save paper and postage, Adobe Pdf files are acceptable. Each entrant can decide for themselves what is the most appropriate format.


Q: We have had a new exhibit installed. Do I need to highlight every exhibit?

A: Yes. Whether it is a one panel, temporary exhibit or a large, comprehensive permanent exhibit, to be eligible, supporting materials must reflect the entire exhibit. If the exhibit can be broken down into themes that can stand alone in the judging process, then please consider doing that.


Q: Our film is on DVD. Do I still need to have it put on video tape to qualify?

A: No. DVD players are so wide spread now, that sending in a copy of a film on a DVD is acceptable.



Q: I am an international member of NAI. Can I submit an entry?

A: Please contact the judging coordinator to see if there any judges available who can read the native language of the produce being entered.


Q: I want to submit my own, homemade, application. Can I do that?

A: NO!! The application form is now web based. Please use the application provided. Applications that come in to the national office that are not on the approved form, will be disqualified.
