Mission Statement

The mission of the African American Experience Section (AAE) of the National Association for Interpretation is to provide interpreters with accurate resources to research, develop, and present interpretive programs on the African American experience.

Goals for the Section

To impress upon the public the importance of the African American experience.

To educate interpreters on the need to facilitate controversial issues.

To provide interpreters with skills needed to interpret controversial issues.

To provide resource materials on historical figures, places, and events.

To inspire appreciation for the African American experience.
